Dave Saunders visited Captiva in the early 1980's and fell in love with the island's South Sea "ambiance", the quiet unspoiled beaches and beautiful sunsets. He and his wife, Jacki, purchased their first Captiva home in 1984, followed a few years later by a Gulf Beach Villa investment purchase in Captiva's South Seas Island Resort, a property they still own. It has always been important for Dave to be a part of the community and he is presently a Board Member of the Captiva Civic Association, a Board Member of the Captiva Memorial Library, a member of the Lee County Library Advisory Committee, is active with the Captiva Island Historical Society, and he participates in the monthly Captiva Community Panel and the Captiva Erosion Prevention District meetings. Dave enjoys boating and fishing and also participates in the Sanibel Fishing Club tournaments and is an active member of the Sanibel-Captiva Sail and Power Squadron. After a rewarding career in commercial/industrial real estate in MI, Dave relocated to Captiva to soon become a residential real estate market leader in SW Florida. Although his primary market knowledge is of the Islands - Sanibel and particularly his home island of Captiva - Dave was recently asked to represent an executive client wanting a retirement home in Naples. This Naples residence was identified, evaluated, negotiated and purchased by the client with Dave's assistance.
